RED RASPBERRY SEED OIL

Red raspberry seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, primarily linoleic and linolenic acids. It contains very high levels of tocopherols (Vitamin E), which act as antioxidants, and carotenoids (Vitamin A). Red raspberry seed oil offers anti-aging benefits of improving skin elasticity, suppleness and flexibility, whilst softening and smoothing the look of wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. It is also an aid for acne as it opens up pores and clears the natural sebum accumulated.

One of the most interesting findings about red raspberry seed oil is its absorbency in the UVB range with potential for use as a broad-spectrum UV protectant. It is featured in the most quoted studies (Oomah et al., 2000) that concluded that Raspberry seed oil could have an SPF value of between 28 to 50 for UVB wavelengths and 6.75 to 7.5 for UVA wavelengths.

*It would definitely makes a nice addition to natural sun protection products, although its efficacy as a sunscreen has not yet been confirmed.
